  the issues about this have been beaten to death.

  i spent my whole commute to work trying to ponder the scriptures involved, especially remember one of those sites, i think it was jehovahs-judgment.co.uk or something that had this discussion of the scriptures and how all of it supports 607 b.c.e.

  i felt ill-equipped to discuss the issues without reading pertinent scriptures myself.

  The jehovahs-judgement site is full of errors in logic, interpretation, and fact. The primary premise on that site, from which the rest is interpreted, is that the beginning of the 70 years MUST start with Jerusalem's destruction based on Jer 25:29 -- where the calamity begins with Jerusalem.

  However, calamity is different than destruction of the temple and removal of Zedekiah. More importantly, if you search that verse on the Watchtower Library you will see that the WT interprets the calamity as beginning BEFORE the destruction of the temple.

  That alone blows up much of the 'reasoning' on the site. Amazingly, Witnesses will use this site as a means of defending the 607 BCE date without realizing that it actually undermines the Society's interpretation.

  i have seen who in version italian wt not so as that english...it misses the tower.

  do you know why?.

  i would like put file photo but not know as do.. can samebody as do?

  FYI - The WT does not have 'digital rights' on some of the images they use in the paper version. These have to be substituted for another image in the digital PDF versions.

  How I obtained my personal files from Bethel

  it has taken me a long time, but i have finally put together an article outlining how i used the law to force bethel to send me my personal files.

  it is a very long article full of scans, so i have linked to it at http://jwfacts.com/watchtower/experiences/personal-files-privacy-act-1988.php.

  in brief, in 2006 i requested that bethel send me my files on the basis that the australian privacy act 1988 entitles people to receive a copy of any information a corporation holds about them.

  All hail the Governing Body for their 'honestly explained adjustments'. Does it not warm our heart that Jesus saw fit to install these 'representatives' in 1919?

  many of you are already familiar with the watchtower's 10 year association with the un.

  there's also a good amount of us that are familiar with the "flagship" rebuttal site of this association---> http://www.jehovahsjudgment.co.uk/watchtower-un-ngo/.

  time and time again i have been referred to this website when talking to jw's about this issue.

  This is now the standard policy. The Society will not provide any written information directly to a "rank and file" publisher. I think this is because people have uploaded information to the internet, but the more important reason is to avoid legal ties. There is to be no direct relationship (and potential liability) between the Mother Organization and the publishers.

  just got back from memorial.

  only went so that i could say to my parents that i had gone and to remind myself why i left.. oh my word!!!

  it was sooooo painful.. got there a bit late - it was a couple of minutes into the talk.

  The new songs are horrible. They put you in a trance. The old ones for the memorial were quite pleasing and even upbeat (Hail Jehovah's First Born), but that is no longer the case.

  CO visit provides preview of April generation change!

  i thought the april wt's brazen generation doctrine change would barely get an official mention before nor after the two paragraphs that deal with it, but yesterday i went to the circuit overseer's visit and in a talk from a bethel outline, he specifically mentioned the change, and i quote... "the very very very newest information we have available, from the april 15th 2010 watchtower!

  " ..reads the infamous paragraphs.. and then, "isn't that wonderful brothers and sisters?

  so now we understand that it means that brother russell's life overlapped with brother rutherford's who's life overlapped (he went through them all), so clearly, this means the end is near.".

  in the case of where a father or mother or son or daughter is disfellowshiped, how should such person be treated by members of the family in their family relationship?p.c., ontario, canada.. we are not living today among theocratic nations where such members of our fleshly family relationship could be exterminated for apostasy from god and his theocratic organization, as was possible and was ordered in the nation of israel in the wilderness of sinai and in the land of palestine.

  What I have always found odd about this QFR (in addition to the obvious) is that the question has nothing to do with disfellowshipping for apostasy.

  It's as if one can only be disfellowshipped for apostasy -- but we know that's not the case. Perhaps the author was not paying attention.
